Repair
If your Wood Ceiling Beam is damaged during handling and installation, there are a few methods to repair and restore it to factory condition.

  • Scratches may be sanded out using 180 - 220 grit sandpaper.
  • Splits and cracks may be mended with regular wood glue and applying pressure to the board with a clamp. Remove excess glue and sand the joint with 180 - 220 grit sandpaper.
  • Gouges may be filled with wood putty and sanded with 180 - 220 grit sandpaper.
  • Dents may be removed from unfinished wood by placing a few drops of water into the dent and allowing it to set a few seconds. If it absorbs, add a few more drops. Cover it with a damp cloth, and then steam it out with an iron. Sever dent may require more than one treatment. Sand with 220 grit sandpaper. Different techniques are recommended for finished wood.
