The 8" x 96" Round Plain Faux Coral Column Wrap is manufactured from lightweight, rigid polyurethane. For the authentic look of natural stone, columns are designed to be stacked to obtain greater heights or trimmed to reduce the height. The warmth and texture of faux coral creates an elegant lifestyle which enhances the look of furnishings and accessories.
Although it looks exactly like heavy, natural stone, closed cell rigid urethane is very lightweight and averages 1lb. per square foot. This greatly reduces the risk of accidents and injury on installations above the first floor of a building exterior.
Manufacturing
Production molds are cast directly from actual, hand-carved blocks and lineals of mined, fossil coral stone, and the finished product is tinted to exactly match the look and color of the natural stone.
Once the Round Plain Faux Coral Column Wrap comes out of the mold, it receives a flash coat of primer, then a final coat of long-lasting exterior solvent-based paint, specifically blended to match the color of natural stone. The factory finish contains a UV inhibitor making this material suitable for both interior and exterior use. Columns are available unfinished upon request; you must specify in the comments section of the checkout page when ordering.
Looking to slightly change the hue of the surface and give the relief a little more pure color? Try spraying an additional finish and wiping it off. We recommend a water-based, heat-reflective exterior paint.

The important cost benefits of our Round Plain Faux Coral Column Wrap lies with installation. Installation is easy and does not require the use of special tools. Polyurethane has the approximate density of healthy white pine; it cuts, accepts screws and nails just like wood. Furthermore, it is already finished, and when placed, our installer walks away. No hassle filling and sanding nail holes... tactile is what we are all about!
Shafts are shipped split in equal halves and are readily assembled on-site; pre-assembly is optional. Mending kits (sold separately) are recommended to join the halves, hide screw heads, mend seams and hide miters. Mending kits are comprised of one 10 oz tube of construction adhesive and one 10 oz tube of our matching grout. Both may be applied with a standard caulking gun.
Fire-Rated
Plan on using the Round Plain Faux Coral Column Wrap in a fireplace surround or anywhere close to an open heat source? The material may be blended with fire retardants at a 15% premium. Call for details.
