Raised Panel Layout

To figure out what you need, measure the total length of the walls you plan to enhance and divide by 8; this will determine the quantity of kits required. That's it!

Wainscoting should be evenly spaced across each section of wall in your room. As the 95" MDF Raised Panel Wainscoting comes with over-sized panels to fit any job,the layout may be balanced along each wall by modifying the panel widths using any of the following methods:

1. Apply full panels across each section from the center out. Miter symmetrical "partial" panels at each corner to fill the deficits; this maintains a seamless flow.
2. Remove excess material from the center of each panel. Join the halves together so that all panels of a given section are symmetrical.
3. Remove excess material from the end of each panel. Profile the ends using Freud router bit #99-519 so that all panels of a given section are symmetrical.

Wainscoting Kit Specifications

MDF Raised Panel Wainscoting is sold in a 60"L kit comprised of the following components:

• (1) bullnose wainscoting cap 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" x 60" (finger-jointed poplar)
• (1) shoe moulding 1-1/2" x 3/8" x 60" (finger-jointed poplar)
• (1) top rail 4-1/8" x 5/8" x 60"
• (2) intermediate rail 4-1/8" x 5/8" x 60"
• (1) bottom rail 8-1/4" x 5/8" x 60"
• (3) stiles 4-1/2" x 28" x 5/8" (Lower Tiers)
• (6) stiles 4-1/2" x 24" x 5/8" (Upper Tiers)
• (2) raised panels 24" x 28" x 1/2" (Lower Tier) ***NOT PRIMED***
• (4) raised panels 24" x 24" x 1/2" (Upper Tiers) ***NOT PRIMED***

Note that the wainscoting cap and shoe mouldilng are manufactured out of finger-jointed poplar for greater impact and water resistance. The stiles have a 1/4" tongue on the ends that fits within a groove along the rails. All wainscoting components less the raised panels come primed, ready to paint.

Each kit covers an area 95"H x 60"L (39.580 sq. ft.).
