Faux Wood Ceiling Beams... An Authentic Look From Innovative Material!

Looking to add another element of warmth and authenticity to your favorite space? AICMillworks.com's Faux Ceiling Beams can do just that! Ceiling beams are ideal for residential locations such as lofts, bedrooms, kitchens, family rooms and patios. They are also popular in commercial settings such as cafés, micro-brews, restaurants, hotels, open office designs etc.

Faux beams (also called faux wood beams or fake wood beams) are manufactured from a lightweight, rigid, polyurethane. The word Faux is used to express that the wood beam is false or artificial in nature due to the innovative material and traditional box beam design. But don't let that fool you... you'll no doubt appreciate the quality and realness of the wood-grain texture displayed in our faux beam collections.

Are they realistic? Do they look fake? Years of customers have been pleased with their authenticity. Each faux beam begins with a true handcrafted piece of timber. The faux wood beams are simply replicas from a master mould of the real wood beam. Simply put, each faux beam retains and exhibits the rich, crisp detail of the original.

If you are looking for the natural look and feel of real wood—at a fraction of the weight for easy installation—polyurethane faux wood beams are ideal for you! Sold in a variety of standard sizes, faux beams may be cut-to-size on site. Faux wood has a density similar to that of white pine and may be cut using conventional woodworking tools. For shorter lengths, merely trim off the excess. Need a longer length? Simply join two or more faux beams together. Tip—use a faux steel strap to hide the seam.

While this material may be used for either Interior or Exterior applications, exterior applications require the application of a UV inhibitor on-site.

A: Faux beams are easily finished with gel stains. Thicker than regular stain, gel stains are designed to adhere to the surface versus penetrating the pores. One popular brand that seems to stick our from the rest is Wood Kote's Jel'd Stain H2O.
